Trillium Pumps Italy is looking for a Technical Engineer
Purpose of Role:
Technical Engineer reports to Product Technology Manager and is involved in several activities, during
the tender phase and/or during the project development and/or during the product development.
Cooperates with and gives technical assistance to the teams of Product Design and Com Ops.
Key Responsibilities:
Including but not limited to:
- performs the assigned tasks ensuring the “On Time Delivery” targets;
- during the tender phase, gives assistance to Com Ops team for all technical queries related to the
pump performances and mechanical configuration;
- manages all the pump curves inside SKB of IQ, checking the consistency with tested curves;
- in case of pre-engineered pumps design (and, when required, also for custom pumps), validates
hydraulic geometry so that performance curve requirements are met;
- makes the technical review of the projects;
- manages and updates/upgrades the Pump Configurator Software;
- executes FEA/spreadsheet calculation for each specific project, if necessary cooperating with
R&D;
- when necessary, makes 3D models;
- makes/updates IOM and documentation for certifications like CE, ATEX, PED, etc;
- contributes to define guidance on internal product specification, approved by the Product
Engineering Manager;
- if required he/she takes the role of “Pump Technical Referent”, participating to technical meeting
for product development and providing assistance to other departments for specific type of
products;
- if required gives assistance to Test Center and defines trimming of impellers or other necessary
hydraulic modifications to comply with project specifications;
- when required analyzes the NCR related to vertical/horizontal bare shaft pumps components and
assemblies, giving feedback to Quality Department and Production;
- when required helps to train new employees;
helps the Product Technology Manager to improve efficiency of his/her tasks,
suggesting/developing optimized design tools and processes
Education and Qualifications:
Degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering and preferably at least two years of experience in
similar roles on rotating machines; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Computer Skills:
Good knowledge of Ansys CFX, PTC Creo Parametric, PTC Creo Simulate, basic knowledge of Nastran and
Visual Basic. Good knowledge of the Office package, database, spreadsheet and word Processing.

The Technical Engineer, reporting to the Product Technology Manager, plays a vital role throughout various phases including tender, project development, and product development. This role collaborates closely with Product Design and Commercial Operations teams, providing technical expertise and support to ensure successful project outcomes and product performance.
The Technical Engineer is responsible for executing assigned tasks with a focus on meeting On Time Delivery targets. During the tender phase, they assist the Commercial Operations team by addressing technical queries related to pump performance and mechanical configurations. They manage and verify pump performance curves within the IQ SKB system, ensuring consistency with tested data. For both pre-engineered and custom pump designs, the engineer validates hydraulic geometry to meet performance requirements. They conduct technical reviews of projects and manage updates to the Pump Configurator Software. When necessary, they perform Finite Element Analysis and spreadsheet calculations, collaborating with R&D as needed. The role includes creating 3D models, preparing and updating Installation, Operation, and Maintenance documentation, and supporting certification processes such as CE, ATEX, and PED. The engineer contributes to defining internal product specifications under the guidance of the Product Engineering Manager. They may serve as a Pump Technical Referent, participating in technical meetings and providing specialized assistance across departments. Support to the Test Center includes defining impeller trimming and hydraulic modifications to meet project specifications. The engineer analyzes Non-Conformance Reports related to pump components, providing feedback to Quality and Production teams. Additionally, they assist in training new employees and support the Product Technology Manager by suggesting and developing optimized design tools and processes to enhance efficiency.
Candidates should have a strong background in mechanical or hydraulic engineering, with experience in pump design and performance analysis. Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis, 3D modeling software, and pump configurator tools is essential. Familiarity with certification standards such as CE, ATEX, and PED is preferred. Excellent problem-solving skills, effective communication, and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams are important. The role requires adaptability to manage multiple tasks and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
